
The building, authorized in 1480 dall`Arcivescovo Messina Peter de Luna, in sec. XVII was the seat of the Congregation of Artists.
The portal d`ingresso, raised above street level, is backed by two artistic staircases, while the bell-tower is embellished by an ancient sundial, on the right of the portal, in a large niche, you can see a fresco of the patron saint of the author unknown. L`interno has two aisles and has two parts placed at different levels. The oldest part has three double arches sixth, quadra¬ti resting on pillars that line the original columns.
The part most recent (dating from 1600) was divided by large and only ray arches, supported by slender columns with fluted stem and rich Corinthian capitals, and possessed a monumental baroque altar, but in recent years it has been destroyed, the arches they were slaughtered, as well as the columns of the `500.
Nowadays the church houses the Gothic arches, a large canvas from Nicosia Nicholas Mirabella (with painted the Circumcision of Jesus) and a Gothic chalice dated 1592.
Above this church stood l`Oratorio of Peace, whose aggregates dedica¬vano to compose differences among citizens, to help prisoners and needy fami¬glie. The Provencal, in his unpublished manuscript, writes that l`impe¬ratore Charles V, during his stay in Nicosia in 1535, he attended l`Oratorio and enriched it with privileges.
